What some of our clients think about RYAH...

"I had the MOST AMAZING massage EVER!! Jill is amazing. It came at a perfect time. You have a great program for Mommy's to Be like myself! Your prenatal yoga class is amazing as well. I've gotten to know a couple girls in there and they LOVE coming. And the prenatal massages are amazing. I had NO IDEA how painful it was on my body to have a baby!! haha. The only regret I have, is not getting involved with those services earlier! I'll definitely remember it for next time. I will spread the word to all pregnant women alike about your great programs. Thanks again...!!! It made my day!"

"I was basically new to the practice of yoga when I first attended a class at RYAH. The welcoming staff and the serene atmosphere of the studio immediately impressed me. After attending my first class I left feeling energized and uplifted and I have been hooked ever since. The meditation and breathing techniques taught in class are a perfect way to release tension after a long day. In only a matter of weeks I noticed my muscle tone and flexibility increase and my stress decrease. The yoga instructors at RYAH are amazingly peaceful and knowledgeable people. They welcome questions and thoughts from their students and allow each student to progress at their own pace. I would highly recommend classes at RYAH for anyone looking to start a healthier, more balanced lifestyle."

"My department one-day retreat at RYAH was both relaxing and uplifting. My team arrived feeling tired and stressed about their work, but left with new ideas for approaching stress management that they could start practicing immediately. The atmosphere at RYAH is perfect for doing any kind of team-building or stress management workshop. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique company retreat."

"Since stumbling upon RYAH, a beautiful and tranquil facility, in July, I have found a personal renewal and vigor I would not have thought possible. The TriYoga classes I have been taking are led by experienced, kind and gentle instructors who have been very patient and encouraging."

"Why yoga?"

"I dislike...er, loathe....no, hate with a white-hot passion exercise in any form or variation, i.e. aerobic, anaerobic, with or without weights, bands, poles, oars, machines, steps, balls, pom-poms, trampolines, or trapezes. My body has contorted and pounded through all of the above so I speak with at least a semi-breath, if not an actual air, of authority. Never mind that, when I turned 59, I felt like the leftovers on the floor of a college dorm room, I continued to maintain my convictions about exercise. I felt lousy, and that was on a good day. Somehow, somewhere there had to be a better way to live...without exercise. Then I picked up Suzanne Somers' book, AGELESS."

"My mind agreed wholeheartedly with every recommendation made in the book about wellness, detoxification, sleep, and upgrading nutritional and hormonal supplementation. Then toward the end of the book, just lurking with a mocking grin and lying in wait for me, were two chapters that I feared were coming. Both sections spoke about Yoga and Exercise. Only Suzanne didn't so much use the E-word; she spoke about Yoga. She and her teacher waxed poetic about the benefits of this ancient practice. "Hmmm," I thought. "Can there be a form of bodily movement out there that I won't detest?" After much thought, I picked up the phone book and discovered RYAH (Rivertown Yoga and Health) on East Elm Street in Conshohocken. The center was ten minutes from my home. I interpreted this as a sign from Above-- a miracle-- much like the parting of the Red Sea or the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. For a $25 fee, I could attend any three classes of my choosing. I walked into the silent sanctuary of Studio A to begin an intial class in Triyoga. After spreading out my brand-new yoga mat, my eyes took in the soft, soothing surroundings. I thought, 'This is cool.' "

"At the end of the 90-minute class led by teacher and founder, Phyllis Bookspan, something was definitely amiss. Having been guided through a series of breathing techniques and various postures for an hour and a half, I should have felt sore, tired, and winded. What I felt at the end of that very first encounter with Triyoga was relaxed, invigorated, and renewed. I took to this time-honored form of self-care like the proverbial duck to H20. I joined Ryah six weeks ago and have been attending classes as often as possible. I practice yoga at home on the days when I'm not able to come to the studio. Discovering yoga was like meeting an old friend."

"In six weeks time, I have dropped one dress size through yogic breathing and postures as well as eating healthfully, i.e. whole foods. The aches and pains in joints and back which I considered "normal" to aging have diminished strikingly. My energy level has also improved significantly. Reaching over to pick up the tv remote was becoming too taxing six weeks ago. Now, I'm awake, alert, and energetic throughout the day and early evening. A calmer demeanor, a more mindful consciousness, and better sleeping patterns have resulted, I am certain, from becoming a RYAH member."

"To say that I like... er, fancy...no, love the practice of yoga and its results in my physical, mental, and spiritual experience is an accurate statement of fact. There is a pot of gold to be found for every weary, disgusted, antagonistic, or rebellious exercise-hater out there. The "pot of gold" is the practice of yoga, and its location is not somewhere over the rainbow, but on E. Elm Street in Conshohocken, PA, at RYAH (Rivertown Yoga and Health)."

"... I specifically asked for a treatment that would trigger cleansing and stress reduction. Jill [my massage therapist] commented that my muscles seemed rather relaxed and [she] focused on the cleansing. I know that [her] hands probed and pushed on nodes, muscles, and pressure points known to affect the bodies self-cleansing mechanisms but I never expected such an intense, head to toe physical reaction to the massive detoxification caused. It was amazing. I have enjoyed all kinds of massage in ten different countries in often very unusual situations. I have never experienced this powerful a reaction. Today, two days later I feel wonderfully refreshed and ready to take on any challenge. Although it cost me a day of work I know that the days and weeks ahead will be more productive and more fully enjoyed thanks to your professionalism, intensity of effort and successful cleansing and detoxification which you achieved through your treatment/massage. You represent Ryah very well. I thank you."

“From my initial visit, I have been thoroughly impressed with the friendliness, courtesy, and overall positive atmosphere that has been displayed by not only your staff, but from several of your members as well. In addition to the above, I could not have been made to feel more comfortable during my visit to your establishment and with my journey into the world of yoga and natural health…. Thank you, Phyllis, for providing many people such as myself the opportunity to experience the world of yoga and health in such an accommodating atmosphere"
